Can you leave the house without makeup on? Not many women do! Admittedly there is no greater feeling than looking good on the outside, as it inspires confidence in the way you act socially. In today’s social media world a women’s appearance is constantly being scrutinized, whether by friends or magazines, and this plays a pivotal role in how confident you as a women feel. A recent surveyed reported that 44% of women felt unattractive without wearing makeup, but does makeup really boost your self-confidence?
We’ve all heard the saying ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’ but there are millions of women who suffer with low confidence and they feel that make-up is a tool to help reinvent and hide the imperfections. We all heard at one point those sayings ‘My nose is too big. My lips are too small or my eyes are too far apart.’ Hence, the use of makeup is now not primarily to attract a male’s attention but it used to empower confidence in social situations. Wearing makeup has now become normal in our society and it’s now seen as a standard growing up tool for younger women.
Naturally, why shouldn’t you want to look your best and feel confident about your appearance? Makeup companies, social media and magazines are now pushing natural beauty products which are aimed to look as natural as possible, but what type of makeup should one use to enhance your natural beauty?
It’s all about priming- To have the natural look you need to first of all get the right skin tone colour. Then it’s all about becoming the artist and priming the surface of your skin and fill in any imperfections you may have. Take your time though as if the priming is rushed it will affect the natural look you’re.
Base your layer- Ensure you blend and layer your products so you have natural looking skin.
Hide those blemishes sparingly- We all have imperfections, it would be impossible not to. You need to forget about the Photoshop images in magazines and look to conceal the blemishes. Use the best concealer you can afford which matches your skin tone and remember use it sparingly!
Blusher up- The holy grail of the makeup world! The blusher holds a secret formula that injects the skin with a youth-boosting, hangover-curing and general complexion colour! Make sure it’s in your beauty regime.
Subtle lips- We all wanted or at least attempted the Marilyn Monroe luscious red lips! But the time has come to try the nude colours and help give off that natural look. You may not leave the lipstick mark on the cheek, but your lips will still be as divine!
Avoid the mascara- Throw away those false lashes or the mascara that helps to make your lashes thicker and longer. Celebrities and the fashion world are ditching the mascara for the natural look!
Sort out the brows- Get the tweezer out or see professional help. The brows are part of your facial features so make sure they look natural on your face. Avoid drawing them in!
Remember no matter what the situation, as long as you feel confident then that’s all that matters.
